ZACK AND MIRI... make a movie?

The word "Porno" has been removed from the major advertising for Kevin Smith's soon to be released comedy ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO. The reason being The Weinsteins have had trouble convincing newspaper outlets and television stations to promote a movie whose title they believe their readers and viewers may find offensive. Even bus advertisements have been pulled because the word PORNO is deemed as €œhighly sexually suggestive and not suitable for general audiences.€ This new t.v. spot playing on U.S. screens is a testament to this...

AUSTIN POWERS: THE SPY WHO SHAGGED ME... anyone? Surely that one is less appropriate than the word PORNO? Take away the PORNO from the title and sadly the catch doesn't quite work as well. This kind of advertising could cost Kevin Smith's biggest budget film to date a substantial amount of money... who would be interested in a movie titled ZACK AND MIRI when it opens on Oct. 31st (U.S.) and Nov. 14th (U.K.) source - /film
