Zack Snyder’s Justice League: 27 WTF Moments
18. The AWESOME Darkseid Flashback
By far one of the biggest and most surprisingly expansive additions to this cut is the flashback to the world's previous battle with the army of Apokolips.
In the Whedon Cut, this was a relatively brief sequence which showed Steppenwolf being jobbed out by Earth's united forces in record time, but the Snyder Cut transforms it into a fantastic 10-minute set-piece, while also replacing Steppenwolf with Darkseid.
The sequence is jam-packed with fan-service: we get to see Zeus kicking ass, Ares (David Thewlis) even shows up for a few seconds, there's a little more footage of Green Lantern Yalan Gur (whose hand is cut off), and Darkseid is even accompanied by a damn trio of mystics.
Despite the sometimes messy CGI, it's far more ambitious and interesting than the more generic action sequence we got in 2017, if also completely, deliriously odd.
