While the Snyder Cut largely succeeds where the original film doesn't, it does have to be said that the overall experience is a wildly messy one - if at least interesting enough to often offset this.

From the semi-random inclusion of minor melodramatic subplots to the numerous exposition-heavy flashbacks, overabundance of sloppy CGI, and an insane epilogue sequence that's sure to be hugely divisive, it's tough to call this an entirely coherent vision.

The budgetary and time restrictions can only partially explain these issues, and while it's admirable that Snyder wanted to give fans everything he possibly could - this likely being his final foray in the DCEU and all - the end result also suffers from the film's clear desire to be all things to all people.
