Zombieland: Double Tap Review - 6 Ups & 4 Downs

2. It's Superbly Paced

Zombieland Double Tap

One of the greatest positives of both movies is how brilliantly paced they are.

They're both under 100 minutes long, are constantly propped up by hilarious banter and wacky scenarios, and even when a gag doesn't work, they've already moved onto the next before you have time to fully process it.

Double Tap is a whole 10 minutes longer than the first film, but maintains a pacy clip throughout, never dragging or getting too bogged down in the aforementioned subplots which don't really work.

Given that many comedies fall into the trap of relying too much on their actors improv-riffing off one another to the extent that it bloats out the runtime - looking at you, Ghostbusters (2016) - it's an admirable feat of restraint that this film is so tight.
