10 "Confirmed" 2018 Video Game Leaks That Were Total Bull

While F-Zero remains a completely ignored IP at Nintendo, Star Fox does still have something of a presence in gamers' minds, thanks in particular to this year's Starlink: Battle For Atlas. However, it was just a fun tie-in for those who bought the game on Switch and wasn't a true Star Fox game. However, those that followed the rumour mill earlier this year may have heard of an apparent new Star Fox game, but one that would be far different than previous ones.

Yes, it was believed that Nintendo was planning on adding another racing franchise to their repertoire with Fox and crew joining the ranks. Developed by Retro Studios, the game was set to be similar to Diddy Kong Racing with a campaign mode and plenty of co-op modes. Following the leak of a supposed official presentation paper for Nintendo, an announcement appeared to be imminent at some point.

And yet, absolutely nothing came of it. Gamers probably should've seen it coming as it's doubtful Nintendo would follow up the disappointing Star Fox Zero with a spinoff in a completely different genre. It's a decision that would likely bother more fans than please them. Probably best this one didn't come true.
