10 Amazing Moments From The Worst Video Games

Sonic the Hedgehog - released in 2006 and as such is commonly referred to as Sonic '06 - is an awful video game. It isn't just considered the worst game from the series, but one of the worst of all time.

The voice acting is beyond bad, the mechanics are awkward and the plot doesn't make reasonable sense (even for a fictional hedgehog). Really, how is Sonic meant to kiss Princess Elise of Soleanna and have the relationship the introductory cutscene so obviously suggests?

Still - and looking beyond its inherent flaws - there is one gem found beneath the mountain of unpolished rocks.

The opening level oozes classic Sonic vibes on a three dimensional scale and is spectacularly fun throughout. Sonic '06 really doesn't achieve much and it seems as though it never intended to, but this section would deceive you into thinking this was far from the case.

Wave Ocean is a thoroughly enjoyable episode and the accompanying music is so soothing it makes you feel as though you could sit blitzing around the level for hours on end - had the rest of the game followed suit, it may not have been a critical failure.
