This might not be the most interesting looking of the N64's various iterations, but aside from a handful of unreleased German variations, it's unquestionably amongst the most obscure.
The machine was up for grabs as part of a campaign between major Japanese airline All Nippon Airways and Nintendo to promote the release of Pokémon: The Movie 2000. A branded console, alongside a copy of Hey You, Pikachu!, winged its way to the passenger lucky enough to win the random seat lottery whilst travelling on any of ANA's jets featuring Pocket Monsters livery.
Some expert number crunching by the folks over at ConsoleVariations.com calculated that with seven Pokémon Jets making just 281 journeys during the dates of the compo, approximately 2000 consoles would have been dished out to customers - assuming the flights were fully booked.
Of course, had this promotion ran today, various low-cost airlines would have immediately charged extra baggage fees to their big winners.
