10 Announced Video Games That Are NEVER Coming Out
8. Deep Down
Capcom's mesmerising action-RPG Deep Down tore the house down when it was announced alongside the reveal of the PlayStation 4 in 2013, with the expectation that it would be a launch window release for Sony's then-shiny new hardware.
But the PS4 came and went without Deep Down ever resurfacing, and we're now roughly two-thirds of the way through the PS5's expected life cycle with the game's status still firmly in limbo.
The last major update was in 2019 when producer Yoshinori Ono confirmed that Deep Down wasn't scrapped, but by 2020 Ono had left the company. In 2021, former chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios Shawn Layden said he had "no idea" what happened to the game.
Some fans have speculated that Deep Down's assets may have been repurposed into Capcom's recent Dragon's Dogma 2, and considering how crowded, arguably overcrowded, the fantastical dungeon crawling action-RPG genre is in 2025, it's tough to picture this one ever being picked up again.
