10 Annoying Enemies That Almost Ruined Great Video Games

1. Medusa Heads - Castlevania

Notice how most enemies on this list don't need complex attack patterns or overpowered moves to prove extremely infuriating? Quite often the simplest enemies are the most infuriating, and Castlevania's meandering Medusa Heads illustrate that all-too succinctly.

They're completely predictable, flying from right to left in bunches or during dangerous platforming sequences. The gold ones are particularly nasty because they paralyse you too, leaving you vulnerable to being hit by the next one that inevitably comes floating your way, or sending plummeting into an abyss if you were mid-jump.

In later Castlevania games, Medusa Heads proved a little more manageable thanks to the introduction of the double jump but, as you can see from this poor guy in the video below, they continue to remain a nightmare thanks to their sheer infernal persistence.
