10 Awesome Video Game Crossovers We Were ROBBED Of

Whilst this one will likely sound quite silly on paper, when you take a step back and really think about it, this one makes perfect sense. 

Two of Nintendo's most successful and iconic franchises, both feature light-touch strategic gameplay, allow players to gather and collect warrior units and they both feature a distinctly anime style of presentation - seems like a no-brainer huh? 

Well, apparently not according to Nintendo.

The idea of merging Pokémon and Fire Emblem was pitched but Nintendo had already agreed to a similar idea, one that would see its flagship monster collecting series be merged with the in-depth strategy series Conquest. The explanation for why they went with Conquest instead of Fire Emblem was a simple issue of licensing, according to Nintendo's Hitoshi Yamagami, he claimed that "At that time, the organization itself was undergoing changes. and it was almost impossible to deal with Atlus as a second party, and so we almost decided to give up on it."

Whilst the resultant Pokémon: Conquest has gone on to become a cult classic within certain circles, we can't help but feel that a Pokémon X Fire Emblem game could have spawned a series that would live just as long as the two that spawned it.
