Sequels have an always will be big business, but by the time you’ve heard Green Day’s third attempt at recreating American Idiot or seen Iron Man 3, you start suffering from serious sequel fatigue.

The gaming industry is one of the biggest culprits for producing unnecessary sequels that no-one really asked for. For every Halo 2 there’s another iffy Assassin’s Creed entry to plod through before a more deserving series gets a sequel greenlit – Red Dead Redemption’s impending successor can’t come soon enough.

As an open plea to the gaming industry, here’s a list of 10 truly awesome video games that desperately deserve sequels. Go on! Give us what we want! We'll pay!

10. Jade Empire

BioWare

BioWare were officially the biggest name in RPGs in the early part of the 2000s. Fresh off the success of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, they opened our eyes to a whole new world. Yes, we’d seen attempts at East Asian themed games, but far short of Otogi 2 (seriously, check it out) nothing came close to Jade Empire.

Making use of a similar decision system to KOTOR, Jade Empire placed you in the heart of a setting inspired by Imperial China, as a student of the seemingly benevolent Master Li. After several rounds of ass-kicking combat, you learn the central character is a Spirit Monk, and your former master is a power hungry monster hell bent on changing the world in his image.

Naturally, you’re given choices at the end to take the power for yourself: polish off the evil bugger or ally yourself with him and be hailed as a hero by the brainwashed masses when really you bottled it at the last second. If that hasn’t got you eager to play the original game, imagine how desperate the rest of us are for more. Please BioWare: we’re begging you!
