10 Beloved Video Game Characters You Hated In The Sequel

5. Johnny Klebitz - Grand Theft Auto V

Red dead redemption

Johnny's transformation from GTA IV to GTA V is so tragic, you could almost feel sorry for the guy if it weren't for the fact he did it all to himself. Klebitz went from a fearsome leader of a motorcycle club to a hopeless and stomp-able drug addict, going against everything he fought for in his original appearance.

Though The Lost and Damned wasn't the favorite of GTA IV's two DLCs, it had quite a few fans due to its protagonist, Johnny Klebitz. His no-nonsense attitude combined with his absolute loyalty to his companions made him an easy character to cheer for. However, these traits also made him an easy target for manipulation by his drug-addicted girlfriend, Ashley.

Towards the end of The Lost and Damned, Johnny shows growth by cutting Ashley from his life and not letting her self-destructive behavior bring him down as well. It made for a great moment that was ruined as soon as GTA V came out, and revealed that Johnny got back together with Ashley, even becoming a heroin addict himself.

His downfall is so hypocritical and disappointing, it almost justifies Trevor putting an end to it with the bottom of his boot.
