10 Best Ever Video Game Dads

7. Sam Fisher - Splinter Cell

Sam Fisher

This Tri-Goggle wearing super-spy isn’t just Fourth Echelon’s brightest asset, but a great father too. I say great because he spent an entire game rescuing his presumed-dead daughter in Splinter Cell: Conviction, which sort of made up for the fact his occupation sort of got her targeted in Double Agent.

Sam Fisher's status as one of the medium's greatest dads isn't necessarily down to the fact that he's a good father, even if rescuing your daughter from a corrupt government agency is a pretty impressive feat. It's more the fact that he's a great character who also happens to be a dad, and that Ubisoft's occasional segues into discussing Sam's family life help to flesh out the character.

Plus, who wouldn't want Sam Fisher to be their dad? Sure, the threat of kidnapping isn't too great, but on the upside you have a super-spy for a parent and you'd probably be able to pinch his goggles from time to time. A fair enough trade, arguably.
