6. Dark Souls - Solaire Is Gwyn's Son

Could one of Dark Souls' most beloved characters actually be a wolf in sheep's clothing, so to speak?

The meme-spawning, star-worshipping and lovable Solaire of Astora may appear to have a few screws loose by the time you encounter him staring up at the heavens in Lordran, but is there a specific reason why he seems to be infatuated with the brightest of all known objects?

By spending hours digging through the game's lore, many fans believe that Solaire - whether he knows it or not - is actually the long lost son of Gwyn, Lord Of Sunlight (read: now Cinder) - a god of war that was cast out of Anor Londo and stripped of his deific status before the events of the first game.

With Gwyn being so closely associated with the sun, and Solaire's chasing of it throughout the game, many suspect it to be a metaphor for the eccentric warrior trying to claim back his godhood from his father which, depending on how you interpret it, is a theory supported by Solaire's own dialogue.
