10 Best Final Bosses In Resident Evil History
1. Albert Wekser - Resident Evil 5
Could it really be anyone else?
Albert Wesker is, by a considerable distance, the best villain in Resident Evil. The superpowered schemer was the lynchpin of the series' plot (such as it is), and his removal from the franchise at the end of RE 5 still feels like a mis-step. However, if he really had to die then at least Capcom gave the old boy a hell of a send-off.
A fittingly epic fight that takes across multiple locations before climaxing in a close-quarters duel in the middle of a volcano, this battle contains some of the most instantly iconic moments in the series' history.
Whether it's Wesker promising "COMPLETE...GLOBAL...SATURATION!" or Chris Redfield punching a boulder into submission, this fight holds a special place in the hearts of all Resident Evil fans.
Yes, its not perfect (like many mid-to late noughties games it has suffers the scourge of QTEs), but it's still damn enjoyable. Which sums up Resident Evil as a whole, really. The games very rarely get everything right, but there's more than enough good in there to justify fan's faith in the franchise and make us excited for the upcoming RE8.
