10 Best Games Announced At E3 2019
2. Elden Ring
Elden Ring was the early talk of E3, leaking just before the expo officially opened. Microsoft’s presentation confirmed it was real, and it remains one of the biggest takeaways from the whole show.
We don’t know a great deal about it yet, but just the names attached are enough to generate buzz. FromSoftware (of Dark Souls fame) are the developers, while Hidetaka Miyazaki (Dark Souls' creator) is directing and George R. R. Martin has heavy involvement in the story. Initial rumours suggested Martin’s involvement pointed to a proper Game Of Thrones RPG, but that wasn’t to be.
A fully-fledged game set in Westeros seems like it could be great, but the fact it’s not happening doesn’t seem to have dampened Elden Ring's hype.
It’s set to be FromSoftware’s biggest project yet, going in a Witcher 3-style RPG direction. The story sees you take on various bosses to absorb their powers, and has been in development for three years.
The collaboration has almost everyone excited, aside from A Song Of Ice And Fire fans who are begging George R. R. Martin to just finish the books.
Please.
