10 Best Games Announced At E3 2019
1. Final Fantasy VIII Remake
Last year when Final Fantasys VII, IX and X all had remasters revealed, it seemed like VIII’s chance had passed. They were all getting a sparkly new polish, while VII remained on the shelf as the unloved middle child.
There were even some rumours that Square Enix had actually lost some of the crucial code necessary to remake the game, and that getting a remaster was now an impossibility.
However, during Square Enix’s conference, they announced the remake was, in fact, well under way. So much so that it’s actually coming out this year, meaning they could easily have announced it last year, yet opted not to.
Final Fantasy VIII is coming to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC, so no one will be missing out.
While it was strange and slightly sad not to see it last year, there was a feeling of understanding amongst the fanbase. VIII has possibly the most divisive storyline of all the Final Fantasys. And considering how bizarre some get, that’s really saying something.
The game was massively popular though, as fans embraced the craziness, so it’s great that Square Enix is going ahead and bringing us VIII alongside the rest.
