10 Best Nintendo Video Games Of 2016

Just when fans were becoming concerned that the Pokemon formula was getting a bit stale, along comes Pokemon Sun and Moon to switch things up in a huge way. Everything about Sun and Moon feels fresh and new - despite retaining that core formula that makes the Pokemon games so appealing.

One of the most notable ways this is reflected is in the Alola versions of classic Pokemon, taking the expected and twisting it ever so slightly into something exciting, from the multicoloured Muk to the ludicrously tall Exeuggutor. And who doesn't love seeing Dugtrio with long, flowing blonde hair?

The game's setting in the Alola region is a lovely breath of fresh air, and swapping out traditional gameplay elements like gym battles for trials is truly inspired. The story, too, is one of the most enjoyable and engaging the series has ever seen.

So much more praise could be heaped on the games and then even more, making Pokemon Sun and Moon the best Nintendo games of 2016.
