No, not Star Fox Zero... Star Fox Guard!

What, you didn't know there were technically two Star Fox games released this year?

Star Fox Guard is a tower defence game which was bundled as a separate disc for the first print edition of Star Fox Zero, but can now be purchased on the Wii U eShop. Whereas Zero attempted to reboot the Star Fox franchise but with utterly terrible controls, Guard is a simple little game that's surprisingly fun - and has an enormous amount of content.

The premise of the game is very basic: defend bases owned by Slippy Toad's uncle Grippy from robotic attackers. To do this, the player monitors various security cameras by selecting them on the Wii U game pad. Once selected, the current camera feed is displayed on the television screen, and the player can blast whatever robots they find.

If you're a fan of tower defence games, Star Fox Guard is surprisingly addictive, and the fact there's a level editor with online sharing enabled makes it all the better.
