6. Evil West

Flying Wild Hog

Gaming developers are always striving to devise mind-blowing mechanics and innovative ideas. However, Flying Wild Hog went in a different direction while putting together their third-person shooter, Evil West. The supernatural western can be summarised in three words: gunslinger versus vampires.

Even though blasting bloodsuckers throughout the ten-hour campaign should get boring, Evil West gets away with it, due to its kinetic combat, splatterfest violence, and gross-out finishers, which are reminiscent of Doom's glory kills.

Although the levels are well-crafted and there's plenty to explore, you'll be inclined to stop and wail on everything that has the misfortune of crossing your path. The combat becomes more enthralling as you progress, since you can unlock all sorts of OTT weapons and upgrades. For example, uppercutting a vamp with an electric punch into another enemy like a DragonBall Z character never gets old. The formula rarely deviates, but players won't care, since they'll be busy tearing the relentless enemies a new one.

Evil West may be grandiose and over-stylised, but it doesn't pretend to be anything else. If anyone is looking for a straightforward shooter, they'll have a ton of fun with this gem.
