10 Best Video Games Ever Made (Until You Played Them Again)

1. Goldeneye 007

GTA 3
Rare

No game on this list has done so much for the industry while aging SO poorly as Goldeneye 007.

It cannot be overstated enough how influential this silly little movie tie-in game was on FPS shooters. The multiplayer mode in particular is still held up as one of the best out there.

Just a shame then that the game itself kinda sucks.

The shooting is so damn stiff that, as any veteran of that multiplayer will tell you, going against a character just an inch or two below default height makes it almost impossible to hit them. The controls and NPC AI is somehow worse, with the escort mission partway through the campaign being particularly notorious.

You will die SO many times in this game, and like maybe 3 of those times will feel anything close to being fair.

Outside of nostalgia, there is little to no reason to go back to Goldeneye 007 these days but the impact it had when it was released back in the day is incalculable.
