10 Biggest 2017 Video Games You Should Be Worried About
2. Days Gone
After an awkwardly lengthy reveal at Sony's E3 press conference last year, the veil has been lifted on Bend Studio's upcoming open world zombie game. But bearing more than a small resemblance to other releases in Sony's first party stable - as well as releasing in an already overcrowded genre - it's going to be difficult going forward for Days Gone to carve out its own identity amongst similar titles.
While the game's solution to this problem so far has been to throw as many zombies as humanly possible at the screen, what we've seen hasn't given us a clear idea of what else the game actually has to offer.
In fact, it's all looked a bit... dodgy. The AI on display in the initial demo is particularly suspect, clearly only created for the purposes of making the run through look cool rather than accurately representing how these hordes will operate in the final game.
Combine that with an assault rifle that never ran out of bullets and confusion around what was scripted and what wasn't and the demo has raised questions about what kind of experience you should expect to get out of Days Gone, and whether or not it will be worth picking up instead of the ten other zombie games out at the end of the year.
