So the Apocalypse wasnt so bad. The governments have gone and towns are springing up across the New World where sin and danger are currency. Only theyre not, in Fallout you needed bottle caps, in Wasteland 2 you need scrap, and in the later Dead Rising's it's good old fashioned dollars, because where there's pockets of civilisation, sooner or later, something becomes currency. Currency in-games is a reward that affords progression, whether it be to buy items, weapons or just pay for a drink, in games, currency is often necessary and like guns and ammo it's often found everywhere. Whatever you decide to spend it on it's rarely difficult to find (with nearly every kill in Fallout you're a few bottle caps heavier). However here in the real world, apocalypse or not, someone is going to make you work hard for it.
