10 Classic Comics Insomniac Should Adapt For Spider-Man 2

Insomniac will have a tough time picking from these classics.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Insomniac

Insomniac created one of the best versions of Spider-Man with their adaptation of Peter Parker back in 2018 for the PlayStation 4. The game allowed players to journey through a storyline featuring a Spider-Man who was in his early twenties, battling villains such as Doctor Octopus, Mr. Negative and the Sinister Six.

This Spider-Man managed to give players the most immersive experience as the Wall Crawler in the gaming medium, with players feeling as though they were really swinging through New York City and fighting crime as their favourite superhero. It also gave gamers some of the best versions of characters from the Spider-Man mythos, while developing others in unexpected ways.

While the story from the first game was spectacular and masterfully crafted throughout, there are numerous classic storylines which Insomniac can utilise for their sequel. The first game may have featured an original story, but Insomniac would be crazy not to take elements from at least some of the Wall Crawler's classic storylines for the follow up.

With Spider-Man: Miles Morales just around the corner, now is the perfect time to discuss which classic storylines from the comics Insomniac should adapt for the sequel.

10. Spider-Men

Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Marvel Comics

This storyline was a simple choice for this list, and while Insomniac would not be able to adapt the limited series faithfully, the studio should certainly use elements from the Spider-Men story that saw Peter Parker and Miles Morales come together for the first time.

While both Spider-Men would be from the same universe in the Insomniac adaptation, it would be brilliant to have a game where the player can control both Miles and Peter, switching between the two as Peter continues to train Miles as the next Spider-Man.

There are numerous elements the sequel could take from the limited series, such as using Mysterio as a main villain and capitalising on the popularity of the villain from Spider-Man: Far From Home. The series could also pass the torch officially, with the sequel ending with Peter handing the mantle officially over to Miles as he moves onto a retired life with Mary Jane Watson.
