10 Classic Comics Insomniac Should Adapt For Spider-Man 2
4. The Night Gwen Stacy Died
The Death of Gwen Stacy is one of the biggest moments in Spider-Man's comic book history. Her death serves as Peter's greatest failure, and changed the hero for years to come as his first love was killed by the Green Goblin.
While the game would have to make some changes, it would be a bold and welcome for Insomniac to adapt this classic moment. The major change would be swapping Gwen Stacy for Mary Jane, much like the classic Spider-Man 1994 animated series pulled off with its adaptation of the story.
If they introduced Norman Osborn as the Green Goblin in the sequel, it would be the perfect way to set him up as an arch enemy for the Wall Crawler by having him kill Mary Jane.
Insomniac's Peter Parker has already lost Aunt May, adding the loss of Mary Jane would have a major impact on the hero and would certainly push him down a more violent pathway. It would also cement Norman Osborn as a true villain and the Green Goblin of this universe, as one of the foes that has managed to hurt Peter the most.
