2. EA Announces Battlefield: Hardline
EA's Battlefield 4 was one of the most controversial releases of last year, with its dodgy netcode and huge amounts of bugs and issues. Despite countless promises, many of the issues have not yet been resolved, leaving behind a large following that feels widely disenfranchised with the series. When EA announced Battlefield: Hardline earlier this year, the news wasn't exactly greeted with a resounding cheer. At first glance, Hardline seems to be taking the series in a fresh new direction, with a focus on the police and their war on crime. In practice though, the gameplay is almost painfully familiar to Battlefield 4 players. With the countless issues that still need to be resolved in Battlefield 4, many fans felt insulted by EA's decision to announce the next game in the series so soon. Additionally, considering how much players were pushed by the publishers into purchasing the various DLC packs for Battlefield 4, the price of entry to then hop onto the latest entry is pretty significant. If you want to try out Battlefield: Hardline now, then you can download the multiplayer beta from Origin, for free. The full game will be released on the 21st October.
