10 Crazy Video Game Spin-Offs You Won't Believe Exist

5. Theatrhythm Final Fantasy

Typing Of The Dead
Square Enix

Not content with being one of the craziest video game spin-offs we've ever encountered, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy also has one of the most brain-melting titles we've ever seen to boot (it's a cross between "theatre" and "rhythm", just to save you any potential confusion).

Theatrhythm has you controlling a group of four characters from the beloved Japanese franchise, tapping on the screen in time with the music that's playing in the background. Successful taps will inflict damage on the creature or boss you're currently facing, and there are a couple of modes that provide slight variations on that basic gameplay loop.

It's hardly groundbreaking but it's addictive as hell, and even better, Final Fantasy's epic music is awesome to listen to. The game also earns extra points in our book for the adorable Funko Pop-like designs of your four playable characters, so there's that too.
