10 Disappointing Video Games Which Lied To Get Your Money

5. Halo 2

Halo 2 remains one of the best multiplayer games ever released, and the best-selling Xbox game ever. The campaign was criticised for its poorly implemented ending, but it's certainly not considered a low point in the series.

So what's the problem then?

Well, for a while it was looking like Halo 2 would be a whole lot better than what we saw on release. Thanks to extremely tight scheduling constraints, the team behind the second Halo were forced to reign in their ambitions. This is most jarringly noticeable in the 2004 E3 "Real Time Demo," which showed off an excitingly dynamic, detailed level that looked years ahead of its time. It turned out that's exactly what it was, and the entire level was axed despite many fans believing it to accurately show what was in the final game.
