10 Dumbest Reasons Why Video Games Were Cancelled
4. Crash Landed And Crash Team Racing
What's more annoying than a game being cancelled for a dumb reason? That's right, TWO games being cancelled for a dumb reason.
In 2010, Activision was preparing to release a prequel of the Crash Bandicoot series called Crash Landed. The game would revolve around a younger Crash travelling the land to protect endangered bandicoots.
Around the same time, the company was working on another kart-racing game called Crash Team Racing. Crash fans were super-excited, as they were about to get two new games at the same time.
While Crash Landed and Crash Team Racing were in mid-development, production on both games was cut short.
Why was this? Well, when Activision heard Sony was preparing to buy the Crash franchise, they saw no reason to continue working on games that would never see the light of day.
However, this rumour... was false! By the time Activision realised this, it was too late. All the company's workers had already moved onto other projects.
Activision... the next time you decide to pull the plug on not one - but two - Crash Bandicoot games, can you please double-check your sources?
