10 Embarrassing Gaming Moments Our Parents Walked In On
4. Carla & Lucas Sex Scene - Fahrenheit
The advanced graphical capabilities of contemporary gaming allows video games to portray increasingly complex elements of the human condition, such as convincing human sexuality. The motion capture and animation quality of the sex scenes in Mass Effect, for instance, are extremely believable despite their ambitious, otherworldly nature. However, around a decade ago, a video game sex scene pretty much consisted of two blocky, sorta-human shapes rubbing up against one another like they were trying to start a fire. Case in point: Quantic Dream's promising yet muddled interactive drama Fahrenheit. After Carla and protagonist Lucas fall in love (pretty much out of nowhere), a ridiculous sex scene follows, complete with "flattering" angles of one blob bouncing up and down on another, including a glimpse at Carla's badly-modeled breasts and plenty of unintentionally hilarious dialogue. The scene only lasts around a minute, but if anyone walks in while you're watching it, they'll make that minute feel like an eternity. It wouldn't be unreasonable for a parent to simply ask you, "Why can't you just watch porn like a normal teenager?"
