Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one of the world's most iconic video games from the seventh generation of consoles. The game was one of the first titles in the series where online multiplayer became the primary focus for its fans, with the game garnering quite the reputation for its addictive grind.

One of the reasons for this shift in focus is the huge amount of content available with the multiplayer modes, however another reason is just how controversial the main game's storyline proved to be.

The game comes with a warning that: "some players may find one of the missions disturbing or offensive. Would you like to have the option to skip this mission?", allowing players to leap right past the campaign scene, "No Russian".

No Russian sees the player, undercover as a Russian terrorist group member, asked to massacre a crowd of civilians, with them having to literally pull out their gun and manually firing at the people in front of them. The level drew some of the biggest backlash seen in the gaming space, is still a hot topic to fans now, and really saw Call of Duty's main storylines take a backseat to multiplayer in the editions that followed.
