10 Famous Gaming 'Heroes' You Didn't Realise Were Villains
7. Kirby
Game: Kirby's Adventure Crime: Almost dooming the world Kirby is already a pretty creepy character, thanks to his nasty habit of swallowing enemies whole in order to absorb their abilities. In the popular NES game Kirby's Adventure though, he was (admittedly inadvertently) a villain that endangered the entire world. The premise of the game, and motivation for Kirby's 'adventure' in the first place, is that King Dedede has stolen the Star Rod and shattered it into six pieces. After giving each piece to a mighty warrior, Kirby goes out of his way to kill each boss in order to take each piece and rebuild the rod. It turns out that King Dedede had actually broken the staff in order to keep it out the hands of the properly evil Nightmare. All was going well, until Kirby ruined it all and practically delivered the powerful Star Rod right into Nightmare's hands, totally thwarting the heroic King Dedede's plans.
