10 Games Hidden In Other Games
2. Timesplitters 2 - Homefront: The Revolution
By now, most people probably don’t remember much about Homefront: The Revolution (if they remember the game at all).
This 2016 first-person shooter wasn’t the greatest entry in the genre, with numerous issues and flaws pretty much solidifying its place in the realm of obscurity. And yet, people still talk about the game to this day. Not because it’s good, but because it hides an actual masterpiece of a game inside its campaign.
Inside one of the arcade machines in Homefront, the player can access a fully remastered release of the classic shooter called Timesplitters 2.
Although in recent years Timesplitters 2 has been made backwards compatible on Xbox, back in 2016 the game was a completely forgotten gem that could only be played on last-generation consoles. Thus, being able to access the game via Homefront would have been just the thing the fans needed.
“Would have” because the hidden game required the player to enter a code so complex that no one even knew it existed. It took a former developer announcing its existence (while also stating he forgot the code) for people to realize what they had been missing.
Luckily, a few dedicated players managed to find the Timesplitters cheat eventually, so if you own Homefront, you can now play a much better game with it.
