10 Glitches That Ruined Your Favourite Games

4. Stuck in Gamer Limbo in Assassins Creed 2

Sometimes glitches do little, sometimes they do a lot, but the worst type of glitch that can foreseeably occur even in this modern age of gaming is the €˜game-ending€™ glitch. And until you€™re victim to one, you can never quite understand the sheer controller-destroying agony. Towards the end of Assassin€™s Creed 2, players were unlucky enough to invite this glitch if they quit out of the game at a specific time, right after they had completed sequence 11, then when they re-entered the game they would effectively be stuck in the hideout. That€™s right, they€™d be unable to access the animus and therefore would be effectively unable to access the final chapters of the story. It€™s not just that it€™s a game-destroyer; it€™s that it€™s a game-destroyer so close to the end of the game. If were to have happened in the first ten minutes, you could write it off, and try again or leave it all together, safe in the knowledge that you haven€™t wasted your time. As it happened it was right at the home stretch, resulting in a completely inadvertent, but no less infuriating f*ck you from the game devs. Fortunately, Ubisoft have since addressed this issue, but suffice it to say it€™s left many a purposely snapped disc in its wake.
