Whether or not you like to admit it, Red Dead Redemption 2 might be one of Rockstar's most controversial releases. Not in the same sense of things like Hot Coffee, I mean in terms of fan reactions.

Despite garnering critical and commercial acclaim, the fan reaction to Red Dead Redemption 2 has been one huge mixed bag. The main issue comes down to how the game actually plays, rather than the story being told.

Rockstar's mission design has seemingly reached its limit, as the missions in Red Dead 2 are slow, annoying, and so on-rails it might as well be at a theme park.

If you can get past Red Dead's bare bones mission design and intrusive gameplay decisions, you'll find one of the best stories of the generation, and a world that has such attention to detail it's almost too much.

Plus, it's worth it just to be around one of Rockstar's best characters yet, Arthur Morgan.
