10 Great Video Game Sequels The Fans Rejected

6. Halo 5

The Halo games have had a rough time since Bungie left.

With their original developer moving on to make Destiny, Halo was left in the hands of 343 Studios. Halo 4 was received well but didn't set the world on fire like the previous titles, and Halo 5 was arguably even more disappointing.

Fans cited a lack of excitement in the single player campaign, a lack of split screen and a story that was more exciting in the trailers than the game.

Although all of these qualms are applicable to varying degrees, Halo 5 is still a fantastic shooter at its core.

Taking the fight online is where the most enjoyment can be found, as was the case with the older games. Multiplayer may have changed with the times, but it still feels distinctly Halo, and that's a very good thing.

Hopefully Halo: Infinite can find a good middle ground for both the old and the new.
