10 Harmless-Looking Video Game Enemies That Completely Wrecked You

‘Damn, those alien bastards are gonna to pay for shooting up my ride.’ So begins Duke Nukem 3D. Yet, ironically, one of the alien’s scariest weapons is the least alien-looking of them all.

Compared to Duke’s other enemies the Sentry Drone is bland to the point of being disappointing. After all, you’ve fought mutated pig cops, reptilian alien grunts and flying psionic brains. How bad could a flying tin can in a camouflage paint job now actually be?

Well, how do you like dealing with flying bombs? The type can be annoying enough at the best of times, but Sentry Drones up the ante by being tough, fast, and agile enough to dodge projectiles, transforming what would otherwise be a mere nuisance into a bowl-loosening bullet-sponge suicider tank. Worse, where there’s one, there are always more, creating a murder gaggle that can kill you with ludicrous ease.

It is an enemy that Duke veterans hate with a passion, and outside of facing a Battlelord without a Shrink Ray to hand nothing will induce panic, and thunderous cursing, quicker than this kamikaze metal menace.
