As LucasArts games are known for their on-point self-aware humour, so are the Star Wars prequels famous for giving us some offensively cringeworthy lines of dialogue. It really seems like a marriage made in Heaven.

Lo and behold, this is exactly what comes to pass in Knights of the Old Republic II. The character of Atton, originally planned to appear in the 2003 Jedi Outcast sequel, Jedi Academy, instead features in this prequel story. He doesn't do or say anything questionable until the player's second playthrough, where, as far as he's concerned, the gloves are off.

"Are you an angel?" he asks as you walk in the room. He then remarks on the cheesiness of the line, saying, "Hope some poor kid doesn't start using it."

This, of course, refers to Jake Lloyd's meme-tastic run as Anakin Skywalker in The Phantom Menace - a joke that desperately needed to be made.

But that's not all, as Atton then literally explains that he wasn't intended to be part of the game, but was added in when his spin-off was cancelled. Evidently, the people of his time are yet to discover the Fourth Wall...
