Hunting for Easter eggs can be quite fun, but aside from a silly reference or satisfying your curiosity, there isn’t much of a reward for finding a developer’s secrets.

Except for some Easter eggs that actually come with a prize.

Although it is rare, there are games where Easter eggs aren’t just for finding - unlocking them will actually net you a reward. In fact, it may just give you one of the strongest items in the game.

Easter eggs that grant these types of rewards can be especially difficult to find, but the extra effort is worth it, as you may receive a legendary blade, a magical staff, or another incredibly powerful item.

Some of them are references to other franchises, while others are a secret of their own, but whatever the case may be, searching for them will not leave you disappointed.

If you want to know how to unlock awesome gear for your character, or you’re curious about the secret that keeps these items from you, the following list has all the necessary hints and clues you need to unlock these wonderfully powerful items...

10. Alien Blaster - Fallout 4

The Fallout series has always had a weird obsession with aliens. The original Fallout contained a secret map with a crashed UFO, and the rest had some kind of extraterrestrial encounter as well, with Fallout 3 even going so far as to release a full DLC about being abducted by the little grey men.

However, as far as the secret meetings with Fallout's aliens go, most of them don't really offer much besides the curiosity of seeing otherworldly visitors in the wasteland.

The exception is Fallout 4.

Like its predecessors, Fallout 4 features an alien Easter egg, but unlike them, it actually rewards the player with the alien's unique blaster for finding it.

To trigger the secret, you have to travel to Oberland Station. When you visit the location from the south, you will spot a flying saucer crashing down, which you can follow to find the green survivor of the crash hiding inside a cave.

The alien will immediately turn hostile, forcing you to kill, but as a reward, you get to take his blaster.

The gun is arguably one of the strongest one-handed weapons in the game, so it's worth a little tussle with an alien.
