10 Horror Video Games That Let YOU Be The Killer
1. The Suffering
Now, the REAL truth of this entry depends entirely on the ending that you get, but on principle you're playing as a killer through the protagonist's conviction for allegedly murdering his family - Torque is a killer in the eyes of the law, at the very least. It's claimed that our prisoner passed out during his crimes, but you'll get the memories back by the end of the game and find out what REALLY went down.
The Suffering itself is an shooter that leans into a horror premise, as the prison where Torque is being held is hit by an earthquake that brings about a bunch of strange, deadly creatures. Amongst them are incarnations of past penitentiary inhabitants, which are determined to bring out the evil in Torque and transform him into a monster.
Filled with Stan Winston designed monsters and horrific actions, the game culminates with two of the three endings seeing Torque murder his wife, and only one depicting his innocence at the crime scene.
Whether he's responsible for his family's deaths or not though, Torque's grim journey through the game results in choices that brand 'killer' all over him. The title is about as accurate as it gets.
