2016's DOOM was one of the best games of that year. DOOM Eternal looks even better.
That's no exaggeration either. When a game is as good as DOOM was, it must be a gargantuan task to improve upon that formula whilst not straying too far from it. Adding more movement options like a grappling hook? Definitely the right way to go.
Seriously, DOOM Eternal somehow speeds up the gameplay of the original even more and doesn't look to suffer for it.
The fairly boring level designs of the original have been completely replaced with a hellish view of Earth that looks like itll be much more fun to explore.
Mick Gordon's electric-metal soundtrack is back in full force as well, and we're sure to be head-banging all the way through Hell and beyond.
What else is there to say about a game that looks like an improvement on one of the best games of the generation? Just get excited.
