10 Hugely Important Video Games Kids Today Can Never Fully Appreciate
5. GoldenEye 007
Back when movie-licensed games could actually be good, developers at Rare used the James Bond universe to create one of the most defining video games of the decade. A classic spy espionage shooter, the movie tie-in followed in the footsteps of the developer's previous releases by delivering an expansive and hugely refined smattering of firefights in beautifully rendered environments. With a multiplayer mode included as an extra that made the most out of split-screen gaming binges, Goldeneye was a title that players could experience over and over again without ever becoming bored. However, with the evolution of online multiplayer and the proliferation of a different kind of first person shooter, most of the features that made Rare's original Bond experience so epic have become rather redundant in 2015. If you weren't there at the time, playing through Goldeneye now probably wouldn't be any different from booting up any older shooter and blasting your way through it.
