10 Impactful Moments That Made Gamers Cry (With Joy)

2. The Return To Shadow Moses - MGS 4

While players are divisive on the fourth Metal Gear Solid game, with some questioning the story, the length of the cutscenes and the decision to mess around with long-standing characters, both critics and fans alike teared up when it got to the title's fourth act. Returning to the iconic Shadow Moses, the location of the very first Metal Gear Solid, long-time fans of the series were sent straight back to 1998 upon stepping foot again on the legendary military base. Although the location itself is memorable within the franchise, it was just a great way for this series to come full-circle. Because the sequel was finishing off the game's main story, there was a real sense of closure returning to the place that made the series famous in the first place. Even then, just seeing how far games themselves had come on the technical side in the years between visits to Shadow Moses was enough to bring a tear to just about any gamers eye.
