Many gamers are so passionate about games that they begin follow developers. Developers are businesses first, and this cold hard truth is a life lesson many gamers have to come to terms with. But often what starts as a cold truth turns into opportunity. Game magazines habitually discuss the economics of the market to soothe gamer expectations. Because the discussion is around games, the ideas are often very accessible to players. As a result many develop an understanding of basic business and economic methods. These are entrepreneur practices, and by participating in game culture many gamers inadvertently become entrepreneurs. Fan art, game review videos, cosplay costumes - what starts out as fun often turns into a practical skill that leads to real life business ventures (many of which end in success).
