The Level: Dark Link Boss Battle

One of the best things the sequel to The Legend of Zelda introduced was the concept of Dark Link. The game came to an end with this boss battle, and it was arguably the hardest boss fight in any Zelda game up to that point, and for good reason.

Dark Link can do everything Link can do, and at the same speed. This makes him an incredibly difficult opponent, and there were many players who couldn't beat him without heading out to get the latest issue of Nintendo Power to hopefully glean some hints.

The biggest problem with fighting against a mirror version of yourself is that he can easily block and attack you at the same speed you normally dish it out. The whole game teaches you how to handle enemies who don't attack in the same way as the player, and doing so at the end is no easy task.

The Tweak: One HELL of a cheese.

Not so much a tweak as a ridiculously cheap thing to do, if you make your way to the left corner and crouch, you can continuously stab at Dark Link and take him out with eight hits.

It's not honorable, but it works.
