10 Infuriating Video Game Mysteries FINALLY Resolved Years Later

One of the greatest mysteries in the Elder Scrolls series is the disappearance of the dwarves. The entire race faded from existence hundreds of years ago, and since no one in any of the Elder Scrolls titles knows anything about it, it has led the fans to create a number of different theories that have only evolved over the years.

The thing is, the secret isn't really that much of a secret, as the third installment of the series, Morrowind, features a whole mission specifically dedicated to discovering what happened.

Called "Mystery of the Dwarves," the quest requires the Nerevarine to find out what happened to the dwarves by translating three rare texts on the matter.

There are two ways of completing the quest. The first one is giving the books to the only expert on the Dwarven language in Morrowind. The other is to give it to the last living Dwemer, Yangram Bagarn, and this choice actually provides some big insight.

Although Yangram is reluctant to talk about the texts, he implies that the Dwarves used the god engine they created to take themselves out of existence after they found out their world isn't real.
