10 Insanely Popular Video Games That Are Actually Poorly Written

4. Command and Conquer: Tiberium Sun

conna Command and Conquer is somewhat difficult to place on this list. There is no doubt the Red Alert series is campy and doesn't take itself seriously. The Tiberium series, on the other hand, comes across as a bit...intense at times for parody and C&C: Tiberium Sun- the second in the series- is the one with the most ridiculous dialogue and bizarre plot. Much of this can be down to the fact that the series, which once had a nice terrorist/status quo plot revolving around a futuristic resource thought it needed to expand its background but unfortunately did not tie up enough plot lines to help make sense of the expanded scope. Why, for example, is Kane wearing a robotic face half the time? And why does he disappear like that at the end of the Nod campaign? Admittedly some of this is down to what can only be described as horrible FMV sequences that seem to have aged all the worse since the game was released. Having said that, there's only so much you can do when the script calls for you to say after you kill the villain in a tense stand off: "Not on my watch! And that's an order!" No wonder a lot of this was retconned in Kane's Wrath.
