Helmed by Dead Space creator Glen Schofield, The Callisto Protocol shares a lot of its DNA with the classic sci-fi horror. Although it didn't hit the same heights as its predecessor, it nevertheless provided plenty of atmospheric chills grizzly death animations to delight horror fans.

As protagonist Jacob Lee makes his way through the Black Iron Prison and its surrounding facilities, players are faced with all sorts of monstrous enemies eager to turn Jacob into a gory pulp. The enemy who'll be doing that the most is final boss Captain Ferris.

After a first phase where Ferris and Jacob exchange blows in a harder version of an earlier encounter, the proper fight begins when Ferris transforms into a nightmarish mass of hulking flesh that will ruthlessly charge towards players throughout the sequence.

It's vital that players stay as far away from Ferris as possible whenever they hear their pounding footsteps, because a single melee attack is enough to tear Jacob apart.

Not only is this a lengthy fight, but getting stuck in the environment is all-too easy when trying to dodge his attacks. This combination results in a lot of cheap deaths which quickly turn this climactic battle into a frustrating slog.
