10 Massive Xbox One Secrets We All Missed
1. Alexa Vs. Cortana
Alexa,
please tell Cortana to tell Xbox to tell Hermione that-
okay, all jokes aside, not everyone has or ever wanted a Kinect. After the
initial Project Natal, motion sensor hype wore off, most people just saw it as
a clunky, gimmicky peripheral that didn’t really add anything to the genuine experience of playing video games. This is
especially true if you have a microphone handy or, these days, an Amazon Echo as a substitute. The
beauty of both of these is they’re not finicky and aren’t console specific.
Alexa is useful around your house for connecting to lights, home temperature and other tasks that you might not want to get up for. Using the Echo over a Kinect seems like an easy choice, especially if you don’t have a Kinect to begin with.
This way you don’t have to buy or plug in an extra peripheral, not including the Echo which you'll already have set up. It's also almost seamless in that you just have to sign in and link accounts. After that Alexa and your Xbox will be talking like they’ve known each other for years. Hopefully Cortana doesn’t get jealous…
