10 Massive Xbox One Secrets We All Missed
3. Remap The Controller Buttons
Controller mapping has
slowly become more and more accessible through the eighth generation of
consoles. What has always been a simple process on PC is now finally a
possibility on both the Xbox and PlayStation. This is
even more apparent with the popularity of custom controllers, featuring extra
buttons and paddles all over the place. Gaming becomes so much easier when you
can add inputs to said paddles and experiment with different button combinations to
better suit your style.
This is especially helpful for games focusing on magic, elemental attacks or generally, lots of varied inputs. On PC, MMORPGs such as WoW and Final Fantasy XIV are notorious for the amount of buttons you need to press. Using keys such as CTRL and ALT before another button is an easy solution. Sometimes, though, the game just doesn’t feel right and you need to remap all your grenades to every possible direction on the D-pad.
To do this, head to settings, Kinect and devices, then devices and accessories. From there, configure the buttons to your heart’s content.
